Becoing a parent

So in May (hopefully) I am becoming a Dad, although we are now at the stage where the little on is considered a baby and as my wife is suffering from severe sickness - yes it is not just morning sickness it is more like she is ill all of the time and has basically spent the last 5 months in bed, less than 4 months to go!!!

Luckily we are people that like to be organised so we have lots of things prepared already, we have loads of things that I am going to write reviews for, including baby books, baby cook books, toys, nappies, you mention it we have it on the cheap or free and there is not much left to get. The sickness that my wife has is known as hyperememsis gravidarum (excuse any spelling mistakes please), we promptly did research into this condition and found the following books.

Well the books had some advice and yes some of it was useful although there were still, in some cases, the useless suggestions of trying to eat ginger or using sea bands which in most cases will not work for this condition. Hopefully at the very least we have opened the eyes of some of her friends and my family who will not have come across the condition before and hopefully one person (ideally more) will read this and realise that severe morning sickness really means severe sickness and that yes it can last the entire way through the pregnancy and not just up to the fabled 20 weeks.

Below is an ultrasound picture of our baby girl.
